New leaflet: Vote Yes for strike action on pay & conditions

The NEC has taken the decision to ballot all LUL members over pay & conditions.

We will not accept an either/or offer that asks us to chose between protecting our pay or addressing fatigue and working hours.

Please circulate this new leaflet. There are printed copies available at Unity House from Thursday 5 March. Please ensure every workplace has copies in the mess rooms and on notice boards.

Pay - Full & final offer from LUL is not enough plus Anti-union laws and Mayoral election

Pay & Conditions

We have told LUL that their full and final offer is not enough.

We cannot accept an offer that fails to deal with the unacceptable rosters that many members are having to work. We've given management the evidence - our shift working cuts the life expectancy of our members by 4/5 years. Management say we'll only address that if you pay for it. Imagine if they asked us to take a pay cut to cover the costs of PPE or asbestos removal! We can't accept their position.

Support our ABM Cleaners

Hope to see members from all functions on the cleaners demo at Parliament tomorrow.

The demonstration will take place on Wednesday 29 January at 13:00 opposite Old Palace Yard at the Houses of Parliament.

I recently attended a meeting with RMT's parliamentary group where the MPs agreed to write to the London Mayor in support of our demands that the Mayor immediately grants staff travel facilities to all cleaners.

Conference Delegates Required

At our next Branch Meeting on Friday 13th December, we will be seeking delegates to represent us at the TUC Congress 2020, The RMT Disabled Members Conference, The RMT Black and Ethnic Minority Members Conference, The RMT LGBT+ Conference, and the TUC LGBT+ Conference.

If you are interested in attending any of these events then please attend the next Branch Meeting to nominate yourself, or if you cannot attend, ask your local Rep to nominate for you.

East Ham Branch demand an end to violent assaults at work. Support the action

Great work by the local reps and the East Ham Branch
In the wake of unprecedented violence against staff on LUL on the east end of the district line our comrades put on industrial action to say no more
We are not prepared to accept being assaulted at work
The incident at West Ham vindicated this position
Attacks on our members are unacceptable
If LU do not resolve to put this right we are prepared to escalate our action
The attacks on our members across the combine must mark the end of lone working
