Closing date for Tube ballot is 23rd May

The closing date for the ballot is Tuesday 23rd May, so if you haven't done so already, now is the time to vote. Due to balloting laws I cannot stress enough how important it is that you fill in your ballot paper and return it as quickly as possible.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/109/23, 14th April 2023), the closing date for the re-ballot is Thursday 11th May, and I urge all members to return their ballot paper as soon as possible. Your ballot paper for the re-ballot to defend your jobs, pensions and agreements was posted to your home address on Monday 24th April so please look out for it arriving in the post this week.

I have produced a video, along with your Lead Officer and NEC member, giving an update on the current position in this long-running dispute and the need for all members to vote YES to both questions in the reballot.

International Workers' Memorial Day 2023

INTERNATIONAL WORKERS' MEMORIAL DAY 2023

I remind members that 28th April is International Workers' Memorial Day.

Many will be holding a one-minute silence at 12.00 to remember all those who have died because of work.

If anyone is organising an event/ online event at your workplace you could consider arranging for a speaker from Families Against Corporate Killers (FACK) or the hazards Campaign.  If you need one, please contact them and they can try to arrange it.

Cleshar 'paltry pay offer' rejected

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 - CLESHAR (LUL/0001/C)

The Regional Organiser submitted a report advising that Cleshar has made an offer of a 3% increase in base pay rates from April 2023, with any further increases subject to productivity gains. Discussions are continuing with the Company but, at this time, the Regional Organiser recommends that the offer be formally rejected, and the Company be informed of this position.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/052/23. 28th February 2023), a resolution has been received from our Hammersmith & City Branch, regarding the imposition of new rosters. The Company has not properly consulted our Reps over these rosters which are unworkable, and members wish to fight back against the detrimental effect these cuts will have, including on their work/life balance.
