Bosses Offer To Waterloo & City Line Controllers Falls Short of Member's Aspirations

RE-GRADING OF WATERLOO & CITY LINE SERVICE CONTROL STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/2/2)

The Union has been in talks with the Company at ACAS over the on-going dispute where Waterloo & City Line Service Control Staff have been taking industrial action short of strike action to demand re-grading (Circular No. IR/89/14, 25th March 2014). As a result of these discussions, the proposed resolution which has now been received from management is as follows:-

  1. A firm commitment to reassess the weight and value placed on this role should material changes be made to the role performed.

RMT will defend our sacked members

Reinstate unfairly sacked workers, Noel Roberts, Alex McGuigan and Vicky Hayward

RMT have pledged to defend 3 of our members who have been sacked by LUL

Noel was dismissed under capability, even though he was fully fit for work and hadn't had a day off sick for over 10 months.

Alex was dismissed for failing a breath test. LUL were aware he has type 2 diabetes and the probability of registering a false positive was known. But LUL destroyed the urine sample that would have given a definitive answer.

Significant Improvements Seen On Central Line Following Dispute

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAINCREW, CENTRAL LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular No. IR/246/14, 19th September 2014, I advised you of the ballot result in favour of taking strike action and industrial action short of a strike. This matter has been considered by the General Grades Committee, which has noted that significant progress has now been made towards resolving the dispute.

Reinstate Vicky Hayward!

London Underground Ltd has sacked Bank group CSA Vicky Hayward, despite having no evidence against her.

Vicky had an accident at work. But a manager decided that he did not believe her, and says that the CCTV did not show the accident. But neither Vicky nor her rep were able to see the footage, which was destroyed.

If LUL gets away with this, it could be you next time.

Reinstate Vicky Hayward!

GGC decision, 30 September

That we note with regret that on 29 September, London Underground Ltd summarily dismissed Sister Vicky Hayward. We are shocked and appalled that the company chose to disregard all the arguments and evidence that Sister Hayward and her representative put forward, and persisted in using managers' statements as to what they had seen on CCTV footage as "evidence" despite the actual footage having been destroyed.

We note the legal advice received, which confirms that LUL's actions are in breach of data protection law and employment law.
