RMT General Grades Committee decision:

We note the offer from London Underground to operational staff of:

• £100 depending on meeting ’Customer Satisfaction Survey’ targets
• £15 per shift during the Games only (total of 4 weeks) to reflect changed working patterns. The target includes ‘staff availability’ on an Underground system which has seen dramatic staffing cuts over recent years.

We reject this derisory, inadequate offer on the following grounds:

We note the report from Professor Goodman on industrial disputes on London Underground. We agree to seek comments from our Regional Organiser, and from our London Underground branches and representatives, and instruct the General Secretary to place this issue back in front of us once these comments have been received.

LU Management have informed the TU’s that they will be expanding the AFM Functionality to CSA’s.This now means that both CSA’s and SAMF’s will be expected to carry out ticket selling activities outside of the Ticket Offices,something which RMT are opposed to.LU have told us that they will initially be running a ‘pilot’ on a voluntary basis at Bank Station and also using SRT staff across the network from December to early January and thereafter will introduce it company wide.The first thing that CSA’s must remember is that their Job Description does not include or allow for the selling of

The following resolution submitted by Neasden Branch was carried unanimously at the Regional Council meeting on November 24th.

This region notes that London Underground has advocated a four year pay deal as a deal that provides stability for the company and its staff.Now that the pay deal has been accepted, this region calls for an agreement achieving the same stability,over the same timescale,regarding staff numbers.

RMT General Grades Committee decision:

That we note the correspondence from London Underground, reneging on its previous agreement to restore uniform cleaning vouchers. We believe that the withdrawal of these vouchers is a cut in real wages to our members.

We do not accept the company’s position, and refute management’s arguments for it. We do not accept that all uniform items can be washed in a normal domestic washing machine, and believe that the tax benefit described by LUL is one which our members should be entitled to anyway.

RMT General Grades Committee decision:

We note the report from our Regional Organiser, and welcome the confirmation from London Underground management that Local Disciplinary Interviews (LDIs) should not be conducted by the same manager who conducted the fact-finding.

We instruct the General Secretary to advise all our London Underground representatives of this, and to request that any attempts by management to breach this are reported to us.
