"I was first diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma in December 2007"

Brian Munro wrote this article about his experiences of living with Ocular Melanoma Metastasis for OcumelUk, a charity helping and supporting patients with OM.

I was first diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma (OM) in December 2007. It was shocking news but the doctors at Moorfields told me they could treat it. I was told it could spread but they seemed confident that the prognosis was good. Following Proton Beam Therapy the lesion in my eye was shrinking, I had the usual liver ultra sounds and blood tests done on a regular basis showing that everything was fine. Despite the assurances from Moorfields I still found the diagnosis extremely difficult.

Janine Booth's Legathon Extravaganza

This event has now taken place. In excess of £2300 was raised for the Brian Munro Cancer Fighting Fund, a planet destroying spaceship was built (out of lego), and lots of people had fun watching it all happen live

In a bid to generate donations for the Brian Munro Cancer Fighting Fund, Janine built a Lego Death Star - in a single sitting of around 20 hours.

We streamed the event live here, on 15th of June, between 4am and midnight.

Help Brian's Fight for Life! Sponsored Lego Marathon

I will soon be doing a Lego marathon in aid of the Brian Munro Cancer Fighting Fund. I will be building for 20 hours non-stop, in an attempt to complete the 3,803-piece Death Star in one sitting. The date is not yet finalised, but the whole thing will be live streamed. Pledge your sponsorship (either an amount per hour or a lump sum) as a comment by emailing me, and I'll let you know details of watching (optional!) and paying up.
