Driving a Bus is the Most Dangerous Job in Guatemala City

Bus drivers are being murdered at the rate of one every other day as part of an extortion campaign. One driver who got shot had been paying $40 a week - half his weekly income!

On the Wednesday morning of RMT's AGM, we started off not knowing who the people we were introducing actually were. We watched a film called 'In the Name of the Father', and at the end of the film, there was complete silence, after we had witnessed what the Guildford Four had been through in 1970.
RMT's London Transport region is affiliated to the United Campaign Against Police Violence, set up in the wake of this year's G20 protests.
