As you will be aware the dispute with Tube Lines management regarding pension and travel equality will be reaching a significant stage over the Christmas period as a result of possible further industrial action. It is therefore important that members are fully aware of the issues involved so that they can make an informed decision when supporting this action.

Tube Lines Christmas Pay Accepted

We note the report from our Regional Organiser and the responses of our LU Fleet and LU Engineering branches.

Accordingly, while noting that the payment has not increased since last year, we instruct the General Secretary to advise the company that this union accepts the arrangements.

London Transport Regional Council, branches and Tube Lines representatives to be advised.

Tube Lines Members Ready To Take Industrial Action Over Christmas If Necessary

We note the report on the members’ meeting that took place yesterday, and welcome our members’ determination to pursue this dispute by taking industrial action at targeted, strategic times, including over the Christmas and Easter periods.

We instruct the General Secretary to:

  • place this matter in front of us as soon as recommendations are received for proposed further action
  • arrange for the production and distribution of a newsletter for Tube Lines members
  • ensure that our previous decision to organise two mass meetings – so that members on all

RMT Suspends Tube Lines Strike Action As Lu Cancels Scheduled Engineering Works

TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that industrial action involving Tube Lines staff, due to begin tomorrow, has been suspended after LU management took the unprecedented step of cancelling scheduled weekend engineering works in response to the success of previous rounds of RMT Tube Lines strike action.

RMT General Secretary Bob Crow said:

Tube Lines Industrial Action For This Week Cancelled

That we note the report on file from the lead officer stating that all planned engineering work scheduled to take place during our proposed strike action is now cancelled.

Further, we note a mass meeting of our affected members is to take place tonight, Wednesday 21st November 2012 at which the assistant General Secretary will be in attendance.

Therefore, we instruct the General Secretary to suspend all strike action planned to take place on or after 0600hrs on Friday 23rd November 2012 and 0559hrs Saturday 24th November 2012.

Tube Lines Staff New Wave Of Strike Action In Fight For Pension’s And Passes Justice

A NEW wave of tube strike action on London Underground will kick off on Friday in a long-running dispute over equality and a fair deal on pensions and passes for Tube Lines staff.

Previous strike action and an overtime ban led to the cancellation of tens of millions of pounds worth of essential engineering works on the Northern Line and raised new safety fears as the Emergency Response Unit joined with fellow Tube Lines staff in support of the fight for pensions and benefits justice.

The latest strike action will take place as follows:

Further Strike Action As Tube Lines Members Continue Struggle For Fair Pension

We note the views of our representatives, and accordingly instruct our members to take strike action by not booking on for any duties starting on or after 06:00 on Friday 23 November, returning to duties starting on or after 06:00 on Saturday 24 November.

We instruct the General Secretary to send a personal letter by post to all members involved explaining this action and urging their full support, and to facilitate workplace visits by officers and representatives.
