Members Feedback Wanted On Equalities Impact of Tube Job Cut Plan

A group of union reps are examining the impact of London Underground Ltd’s proposals for Fit for the Future – Stations on equality groups including women members, black and ethnic minority members, lesbian/gay/bi/trans members, disabled members, older members (55+) and younger members (under 30).

We would like to hear from members about any concerns and opinions you have about the way you think the proposals will impact on you and your workmates.

Young Members Conference 2014

I am pleased to advise you that we will be holding the 2014 RMT Young Members’ Conference in Edinburgh. The Conference opens with a Reception event for delegates on Thursday 20th February; all delegates are invited to attend. The Conference proper opens at 10.00hrs Friday 21st February and closes at 14.00hrs Saturday 22nd February 2014.

  1. Delegates are invited to arrive on Thursday 20th for a Conference reception meeting in the reception of the Premier Inn at 18.00hrs.
  2. The Conference itself will take place at the Premier Inn in Haymarket, Edinburgh.

Elected Young Members 2013

please see attached poster related to your 2013 elected young member representatives from the London transport region for your information and distribution.

Young members (members under 30 years old) visited their local branch and were voted for their names to be put forward.

Each region has their own young member representatives and together they make up the young members national advisory committee, who meet officially 3 times a year as well as organise a number of interesting activities throughout the year.

Young Members BBQ, action for Rail demo & BMCFF Fundraiser

You are invited to Dover Shipping Branch’s young member Action for rail leafleting & social event on Monday 12th August 2013 at The Priory Pub (opposite Dover priory station).

Arrive 2pm onwards, we have Mike Sergeant speaking at 4pm before our leafleting, please bring your branch banners if possible!

Social & fundraising For the Brian Munro Cancer Fighting Fund to follow from 6pm at The Cricketers pub, River, CT17 0JB. (nearest station Kearsney, minibuses provided for attendees from priory to the cricketers )

Election Of Equality Reps

That the General Secretary is instructed to all employers asking that all of the equality reps are elected and conducted by the RMT. Further the General Secretary to bring forward to the Council of Executives a training syllabus for these positions and make sure we provide enough training required and obtain relevant material from the TUC.
