TUC EMERGENCY PROTEST - Protect the Right to Strike! Mon 22nd May 6pm - Parliament Square

Rishi Sunak wants to take away our right to strike. The Tories are forcing their anti-union “sack key workers bill” through parliament as quickly as they can. It means that when you democratically vote to strike, you could be forced to work and sacked if you don't.

These new laws are a direct attack on our fundamental right to strike to defend our pay, terms and conditions. We need to stop this bill.

The TUC anticipate that On Monday 22nd May, the draconian anti-strikes Bill returns to the House of Commons where MPs will cast their final vote.

MPs will have a clear choice: Reject the bill and support the rights of workers to go on strike. Or attack our fundamental rights and sack workers if they take strike action.

The Tories have supported the bill at every stage and they have the numbers to win this vote but they have seen the impact our strikes have had this year and they know the public are on the side of striking workers. Their last resort to silence us is an outrageous attack on our right to strike.

This bill will do nothing to resolve current industrial disputes or to help union members improve their working condition. It will only make things worse!

At the protest, we will hear from union members and leaders on what we must do next. We will not give in until these laws are defeated. 

Transport workers are under direct attack from the Government and we need to mobilise as many of us as possible to defend our fundamental and democratic rights to strike.
