TRANSPORT UNION RMT today issued a renewed call for the biggest possible turn-out in support of the next round of protests organised up and down the country by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign for an end to the massacre in Gaza.
With nearly 2000 Palestinian’s killed, 10,000 injured and schools, refuges and hospitals targeted, RMT is urging all member’s to join the protests and to ensure a massive and continuing trade union presence on the streets as the PSC campaign forces the voices of opposition into the mainstream media.
The London RMT Women's Lunch will be at the Southbank centre on August 14th from 1pm until about 4pm. If it is sunny we will be sat outside on the terrace otherwise inside with an RMT flag as a tablecloth so you can see us! The Southbank centre has got a bar/cafe but you can also bring your own food and drink so we usually bring crisps and dips etc.
This is a regular monthly meeting, very relaxed and a chance to catch up with other women in your union.

Many of you will have your own experiences of both the freedom provided by public transport and the difficulty using it – be that the railway, buses, shipping, air travel, trams, riverboats, taxis, or other modes of transport.
Let’s look at some statistics and facts – mainly about the railways.
In a 2013 survey of disabled people, nearly 80% used the railways, half of them at least monthly, often weekly or more.

RMT LGBT CONFERENCE, 9th - 10TH MAY 2014 BRISTOL
This conference synopsis is taken from a report by Joanne Parry
RMT LGBT Conference 2014 was opened by the Bristol branch secretary who said Bristol was well known for diversity and inclusion. There was then an address from Mick Cash, Acting General Secretary.
All drivers are invited to the launch of the London Underground Drivers’ Charter. With the prospect of
attacks on us in the form of enforced “flexibility”, deskilling and driverless trains it is essential that we take a
stand to protect our grade.
The London Mayor and the Government are whipping up a frenzy of anti-union feeling and foremost in their sights are tube drivers – it’s time to defend ourselves before it’s too late!
