TUBE UNION RMT has called a major conference in July to fill the void left by the Mayor of London and Transport for London over a genuine and meaningful consultation with service users and providers on the future of London Underground against a background of austerity cuts and surging public demand.

RMT LGBT Conference 2014 was opened by the Bristol branch secretary who said Bristol was well known for diversity and inclusion. There was then an address from Mick Cash, Acting General Secretary.

RMT Tube Train Drivers' Charter Launch

All drivers are invited to the launch of the London Underground Drivers’ Charter. With the prospect of
attacks on us in the form of enforced “flexibility”, deskilling and driverless trains it is essential that we take a
stand to protect our grade.

The London Mayor and the Government are whipping up a frenzy of anti-union feeling and foremost in their sights are tube drivers – it’s time to defend ourselves before it’s too late!

In Pictures: Every Job Matters Dispute Meeting

RMT representatives attended a meeting (April, 16th) to discuss the end of the seven weeks 'Every Job Matters' dispute talks with tube bosses. The meeting was very well attended with over a hundred reps present, and reports and updates were given on how the talks had progressed.

National RMT Mobilisation for May Day, London, Thursday 1st May 2014

I can advise you that following discussions with the May Day Organsing Committee it has been confirmed that the RMT will lead the May Day March on 1st May.

The event will be used to honour Bob’s memory and another giant of the Labour Movement, Tony Benn, who some of you may recall was a honorary member of the RMT.

The March will be led by the RMT Brass Band and followed by RMT banners.

RMT Anti-rail Cuts Campaign Targets Clapham Junction

Rail union RMT , along with the Battersea and Wandsworth TUC, will be holding the latest in a series of anti-rail cuts demonstrations and public meetings next week, distributing postcards and leaflets and engaging with the public at Clapham Junction Railway Station between 5.30 and 6.30pm on Wednesday 26th March 2014 with a public meeting later in the evening at 7pm at the PCS HQ building at 160 Falcon Road right next to the station.

On Wednesday 18 March, the ETF Women’s Committee attended a public hearing on Work-Life Balance and Gender Equality, held by the European Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.
