The following resolution was carried unanimously the LU Engineering branch meeting of 18 August 2009 and forwarded to the union's General Grades Committee:

This branch notes that Tubelines have decided to consistently obstruct, frustrate and now completely ignore the Machinery of Negotiation. Changes in various areas such as S&E and Signals are being forced through without any meaningful discussions taking place and placing our members at significant risk and disadvantage. We request the the General Grades Committee notes the complete collapse in Industrial Relations with this companies and ballots all members on Tubelines for "Industrial Action" and "Action short of strike".
