Dear Colleagues

Defend Bob Carnegie

The National Union of Rail Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) is the UK’S largest rail union and represents nearly 80,000 Workers in the Rail, Maritime, Road Transport and Offshore Energy sectors.

The RMT is also an affiliate of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) and are represented on the Executive of ITF through our General Secretary Bob Crow.

We have been appalled to learn of the threats to Bob Carnegie who is guilty of nothing more than standing up for fairness and decency at the work place.

The injustice of the actions of Abigroup have reverberated World Wide and our Union fully supports the statement issued by the ITF and the Maritime Union of Australia Calling for the Company to drop all legal actions against Bob.

The RMT Executive is considering what further steps can be taken to support Bob’s campaign and please pass on our support to Bob in advance of the Court case on Monday.

In solidarity

Bob Crow - General Secretary
Peter Pinkney - President
