TfL pay update

23/12/22

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2022 - TRANSPORT FOR LONDON (TFL/0001

Further to my previous Circular (IR/217/22, 18th October 2022), further meetings have taken place at ACAS and the full and final offer now received from the Company is as follows:

· A 4% consolidated base pay increase, backdated to 1st April 2022

· A 4.4% consolidated base pay increase, effective from 1st April 2023

Members whose current salary is below the relevant 2022 pay band minimum would have their salary increased up to the band minimum and then have the 2022 4% increase applied on top.

Members paid on or below £29,000 (full-time equivalent salary):

· Will receive a minimum consolidated increase of £1,160

· The above would also apply to employees on 'spot salaries' (paid a fixed rate for the role they do) in Surface Operations

· For 2023, there would be a similar approach based on a salary threshold determined as at 31st March 2023

Members earning less than a full-time equivalent salary of £31,250 - the maximum for Band 1 employees - (who started work in TfL or Surface Operations before 1st April 2022, including apprentices and graduate trainees)

· Will receive a one-off lump sum non-consolidated payment of £500

In addition, as part of a review of the pay and reward arrangements, TfL intend to implement an alternative to the current Pay for Performance model.

The National Executive Committee has noted the correspondence on file and that it is clear that members reject this new offer as it continues to fall short of our aspiration. I am making final preparations for a ballot for industrial action to commence early in the new year and urge all members to vote 'yes' to give us the best possible position in our pursuit of a fair deal.

I will keep Branches advised of all further developments.
