Industrial action called in pay parity dispute

PAY PARITY, TRANSPLANT MAINTENANCE & STORES STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (EX-AP JNP) 

We note the report from our Lead Officer who has consulted directly with our members and representative; that the talks with the company have not reached a satisfactory outcome. WeWinstruct our member to take the following Industrial Action Short of a Strike commencing at 00:01 on Wednesday 14th February 2018 in the form of:

Talks scheduled in Transplant train prep payment dispute

Subject: TRAIN PREPARATION PAYMENTS, TRANSPLANT MAINTENANCE STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (ex-AP JNP)

We note the letter from the company.

We instruct the General Secretary to suspend all industrial action in light of scheduled talks in the new year.

Further, we instruct the General Secretary to place a report back on progress in scheduled talks in front of this NEC no later than the third week in January 2018.

Members to be advised by email and text.

LU Fleet Branch and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.

Progress made in Transplant pay parity dispute

We instruct the General Secretary to suspend all industrial action in light of progress made in negotiations.

Further, we instruct the General Secretary to place a report back on progress in scheduled talks in front of this NEC no latter than the third week in January 2018.

Train prep payment ballot returns a strong yes vote

Subject: TRAIN PREPARATION PAYMENTS, TRANSPLANT MAINTENANCE STAFF

We note the overwhelming turnout and ballot result and the resolve shown by our members.

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:  32

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                       32 (100%)

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:             29 (90.6%)

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                       46  (88.5%)

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:             41  (89.1%)

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:              5

Transplant Maintenance Duty Managers, Team leaders and Advanced Train Maintainers industrial action

We note the report from our Lead Officer; and that no response has been forthcoming from the company since a Failure to Agree was declared by the RMT at
the Company Council Meeting in September 2017.
The train prep payment being denied to some of our Transplant Members performing that duty is intolerable to our Members, and the company’s attempting to ignore their claim for parity will not be tolerated.
We therefore instruct the General Secretary to advise the company we are now in dispute and immediately ballot the following Transplant Members for Industrial

Transplant Maintenance and Stores Staff pay parity dispute

We note the report from our Lead Officer; and that no response has been forthcoming from the company since a dispute was declared by the RMT NEC on 17 th October 2017.

The situation of lack of pay parity amongst our Transplant Members is intolerable to our Members, and the company’s attempting to ignore their claim for parity and the dispute will not be tolerated.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to immediately ballot the following Transplant Members for Industrial Actions:

Transplant Drivers Compulsory Overtime Issue Pregresses

COMPULSORY OVERTIME, TRANSPLANT DRIVERS (RUISLIP DEPOT) – TUBE LINES (LUL/8/10)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/144/15, 4th June 2015) and following discussions with management, this matter has been resolved and transplant trains paths will be rewritten to enable members to finish their shift at the correct time. This matter has been considered by the General Grades Committee, which has noted the reports on file and taken the decision to continue to monitor the situation.
