That we congratulate the Lead Officer and our representatives on the progress made on these matters; especially the re-instatement of Bro Mahoney and the easing off by management on our other members.

We note that the letter of 17th December 2018 from the company is acceptable to the Trains Functional Council reps; and we welcome this and we stay in dispute for the time being to monitor the situation.

RMT reel in win as Brother Codd reinstated

Subject: DISMISSAL, A. CODD, TRACK ACCESS CONTROL – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we congratulate the members, reps, LU Engineering Branch and the Lead Officer on the re-instatement of Bro Codd; who together have achieved justice for Anthony in the face of a vindictive witch hunt by management.

The solidarity of our members was outstanding and demonstrated the finest traditions of trades unionism!

Accordingly; we instruct the General Secretary to suspend the notified strike action for Sunday 30th and Monday 31st December 2018 and instruct all members to work normally.

'Train prep schedule' dispute arises over management inaction

Subject: TRAIN PREPARATION SCHEDULE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from our Lead Officer concerning the failure of the company to engage in meaningful talks with this union; and their ignoring of letters from the Lead Officer.

This matter is of the upmost importance to this union; and we will not be subject to a railroading through of these far-reaching proposals which affect the safety of the travelling public and various grades of our members; notably our Fleet and Train Operator members.

RMT suspends Central Line action

RMT suspends Central Line action and accuses LU of ten months of mismanagement that provoked disruption and discontent

TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that it has suspended strike action over a sacked driver on the Central Line – due to start tomorrow evening – after the company waited ten months and left it right up to the wire before submitting important new evidence into the talks process. The company's brinkmanship means that the line has suffered ten months of disruption and discontent as a result of their mismanagement of a highly sensitive case.

Union action wins concessions on Bakerloo Line South Group

The threat of strikes has secured significant concessions from London Underground management on the Bakerloo Line South Group.

The company has made an explicit commitment to scrap its previous policy of designating certain duties less important to cover, and shift to a policy of instructing managers to “make every effort” to cover all duties as a default.

Bosses have also committed to launch a review of the baseline staffing level, via which RMT reps will be making proposals for additional jobs.

Strike dates named in defence of brother Codd

That we note that no progress has been made with the company, who have not made any reasonable offer to settle this dispute but are continuing with their vindictive
stitch-up against Bro Codd.

Accordingly; we instruct all members to take strike action by not booking on for shifts commencing between:

  • 19.00hrs on Sunday 30 th December and 18.59hrs on Monday 31 st December 2018.

RMT is fully opposed to the opening of unattended bags as part of the HOT protocol

Following a bomb in a bag being left on a train at North Greenwich back in 2016 concerns were raised by the RMT about the effectiveness of the HOT protocol. In response meetings were held with LU at which members of LU’s Security team stated that the opening of unattended bags was part of the HOT protocol, something that came as a surprise to everyone except LU’s Security team.

RMT announces Boxing Day strike on Bakerloo line

Following an overwhelming YES vote for action by RMT Bakerloo South Group members over the Company’s failure to ensure sufficient shift coverage in line with previous commitments given the union has confirmed a programme of industrial action, warning that LU’s current position creates undue stress on staff and puts all members and the travelling public at increased risk.
