Tube Dust: Jubilee South branch motion calls for action and highlights members concerns

The following motion, raising members' concerns about potentially harmful tunnel dust on London Underground has been unanimously passed by the London Transport Regional Council.

 

Jubilee South Branch is incredibly concerned about the potential health risks to members from the very high dust levels on London Underground.

At a recent branch meeting we heard reports from both stations and train members about the issues they have faced and health concerns they have:

Solid YES vote for continued Waterloo & City Line industrial action

We congratulate our members on the increased re-ballot turnout and magnificent yes vote which clearly demonstrates once again their deep concerns over the imposition of this unsafe practice.

We note that the ballot result for action short of strike is as follows:-

Number of members balloted: 68

Total votes cast 57 (83.8%)

Number voting “Yes” 57 (100%)

Piccadilly management 'adhere to agreements' in face of reps determination

That we note the report from the Lead Officer; that in light of us moving toward a dispute, and in the face of our representative’s determination and strong arguments the company have decided to adhere to procedure, have meaningful talks on any roster changes and to return to the status quo in the meantime.

Waterloo & City detainment dispute ballot results

RMT secures 3.8% pay rise on DLR

Subject: RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 – CGL RAIL (DOCKLANDS LIGHT RAILWAY CONTRACT)

That we note the report from the Regional Organiser in which he advises that the following pay offer has been tabled:-

A 3.8% increase for Systems Technicians and General Operatives.

Having consulted with our Representatives, the Regional Organiser is requesting that the offer is accepted without the need for a referendum.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to advise the company of our acceptance of their offer.

Harrow Canteen closure update

Subject: CANTEEN CLOSURE, HARROW, METROPOLITAN LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from our Lead Officer who has consulted with our Neasden Branch representatives who in turn have consulted extensively with their members affected. The view is that the matter has not got enough support for taking the necessary action to resolve this dispute.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to close this file and we commend our Neasden branch for seeking ways to address this issue.
