9 DAYS TO LOSE YOUR JOB - how the company can now sack anyone who's had as little as 9 days sick in a year

VOTE YES - YOUR JOB DEPENDS ON IT - the 800 stations jobs cuts, the proposed attacks on safety rules, the unfair dismissals of drivers: how it all fits into the new Company Plan

DERAILED - BUT WHY? The latest derailment on the Picc raises many questions but few answers

Video: RMT Protest Outside Whitechapel Station To Renationalise London Overground

RMT members recently protested outside Whitechapel Station. The East London Line which runs through Whitechapel has reopened, but this once publicly owned railway is now making profits for privateers. Whilst RMT welcomes the extension of the line, we want it brought back under government control as a public railway, where profit is fed back into the service.

Video: RMT Launches Legal Challenge To Anti-Union Laws

The RMT have released a video explaining their reasons and methods of attempting to get anti-union laws repealed. The union will present its case to the European Court of Human Rights. There are numerous examples of bosses using technicalities, such as calling engineers engineers or not informing members of eleven spoilt ballot papers, which have deemed a strike illegal in UK courts.

Emergency Resolution: Suitability as RMT Rep

This resolution, submitted by Stratford no.1 branch and seconded by TfL no.1 branch, was carried unanimously by the May meeting of the Regional Council ...

We believe that it is morally wrong for a member for who has crossed an Official picket line in June 2009, during an official and legitimate industrial action to be standing for the post of Union Representative.

Ill-health Pension Arrangements - TfL Pension Fund

From Bob Crow, General Secretary ...

Dear Colleague,

I am pleased to be able to advise members that the issue of ill-health pensions payable from the TfL Pension Fund has been resolved.

Our London Transport members will recall that in 2006 RMT started fighting a lone rear-guard action against management’s attempts to undermine the very valuable ill-health arrangements offered by the TfL Pension fund. Management wanted to turn the qualification for an ill-health pension from an ‘own job’ test to an ‘all work test.’

A MATS Functional Council OSP meeting took place today and after some persistent questioning by the unions it became even clearer management are not doing the Duty Manager grade any favours.

FIT OR NOT FIT THAT IS THE QUESTION!!

Fitness for work does not seem to bother London Underground these days. Whether you are fit doesn’t matter, management are now medically terminating you at a case conference there and then even if you are at work doing your job. In one case that happened only a few weeks ago, the driver came to work and booked on ready to do her duty, then went in for a normal case conference and within an hour and half of that case conference she had been medically terminated there and then.
