Janine Booth's Legathon Extravaganza

This event has now taken place. In excess of £2300 was raised for the Brian Munro Cancer Fighting Fund, a planet destroying spaceship was built (out of lego), and lots of people had fun watching it all happen live

In a bid to generate donations for the Brian Munro Cancer Fighting Fund, Janine built a Lego Death Star - in a single sitting of around 20 hours.

We streamed the event live here, on 15th of June, between 4am and midnight.

Pledge your sponsorship (either an amount per hour or a lump sum) as a comment by emailing me, and I'll let you know details of watching (optional!) and paying up.

Tory Spotting T-Shirts For Sale

For the Oct 20th demo RMT young members in conjunction with our friends at Sabcat designed and produced special edition T-shirts with the iconic figure of Nye Bevin with quote- “No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party. So far as I am “concerned they are lower than vermin” on the back. With the now famous Tory spotting image with Tory #4 Ed Miliband on the front.

The special edition t-shirts will remain limited but due to the impact and subsequent interest we asked Sabcat to print more Tory Spotting t-shirts.

Haiti Earthquake

haitiYou can make a donation to help Haitian trade unions' reconstruction work by clicking the TUC Aid button here:

The statement below from the Haiti Support Group gives some of the social and political backgrond to the devastating loss of life in Haiti. It shows that although earthquakes are natural, the scale of their impact is largely down to social and political factors. Our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones, and we are looking for opportunities to help trade unions and other progressive organisations in the mammoth tasks that face them.
