DLR strike suspended as 'significant progress' made

RMT suspends strike action on Docklands Light Railway after significant progress in ACAS talks with the company.

RAIL UNION RMT has confirmed that scheduled strike action on Keolis Amey Docklands, due to start tomorrow and stretch across the weekend, has been suspended after significant progress has been made in talks with the company hosted by ACAS. The union remains in dispute.

 General Secretary Mick Cash said today;

 "After thirteen days of intensive talks RMT's negotiating team has been able to secure significant progress on the key issues of the threat to jobs and conditions from outsourcing and a range of grievances around the principles of workplace justice. That progress has been enough to enable our executive to suspend the action and further discussions will now take place moving forwards with the union remaining vigilant as ever and we remain in dispute.

 "I want to pay tribute to RMT members on the KAD DLR contract whose unity and determination, backed up by rock solid industrial action, has been the platform on which the progress in talks has been secured. Our members on Docklands Light Railway have shown once again that militant and campaigning industrial trade unionism is the key to securing workplace justice."
