Regional Organiser's Report: Urgent Protest Over Job Cuts, plus much more!

1. Thousands of job losses are being proposed by LUL/TfL. We are attending another meeting tomorrow to get more details. The RMT HAS A VERY CLEAR POSITION WE WILL CAMPAIGN AGAINST ALL JOB CUTS AND BALLOT OUR MEMBERS IF COMPULSORY REDUNDANCY IS FORCED ON PEOPLE.

In the meantime we are calling on you all to support a protest outside LUL HQ, 55 Broadway (ST James Park station) on Wednesday 11th February at 7.30am to demand that no jobs are cut.

2. We are meeting with Gerry Duffy to discuss levels of representation for drivers, SRT, service control, King's Cross station.

3. PAY TALKS ARE FALTERING DUE TO MANAGEMENT REFUSING TO USE THE RECOGNISED MACHINERY ie. THE LUL COMPANY COUNCIL AND THE METRONET COMPANY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS OUR CLAIMS.AGAIN. MEETINGS ARE ARRANGED TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE.

4. Management are attempting to get around the East London Line agreement for drivers by threatening to create a false roster and displace existing staff. If this threat is carried out, the RMT will be forced to ballot its members.

5. ISS cleaning company continues to harrass, sack and victimise our reps. Their actions have been met by protests, occupations of their premises and plans to ballot members.

6. EDF power workers remain on strike for more pay adding a further six strike dates to their campaign. Meanwhile, colleauges in ENCOR told management to poke a plan to cut wages and holiday pay so further action is on the cards.

7. A ballot is underway for sacked CBS Outdoor rep Brendan Judge.. Brendan, a leader in the CBSO strike, has now been evicted from his home due to being sacked and victimised by CBSO. He needs our support.

8. WE ARE URGENTLY SEEKING A MEETING TO DISCUSS LONDON UNDERGROUND'S RESPONSE TO PEOPLE NOT GETTING TO WORK ON MONDAY DUE TO THE WEATHER. THEIR PROPOSALS THAT EVERYONE TAKE LEAVE PAID OR EVEN UNPAID ARE LUDICROUS.

9. London Overground staff are meeting this Thursday at Somers Town Community Centre, 150 Ossulston Street, Camden at 1600 to discuss balloting for strike action over the breakdown in industrial relations and restructuring.

10. THE STRIKES ON DLR HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED WHEN MANAGEMENT DID NOT CARRY OUT THEIR THREAT TO IMPOSE ROSTERS BUT WENT BACK TO ACAS.
