RMT to ballot all ABM cleaner members for Strike Action

That we note the report from our Lead Officer following the meeting with our ABM union representatives; and that no movement on any of our matters raised have been addressed by the company. We therefore instruct the General Secretary to advise the company that we are in dispute over their failure to provide free staff travel, a company wide sick pay scheme
or decent company pension.

We instruct the General Secretary to advise ABM we are now in dispute; and to ballot all ABM members for Strike Action.

We also instruct the General Secretary to arrange political representation to address these matters with the London Mayor and in Parliament through an Early Day Motion at the earliest opportunity and for a delegation of cleaners to City Hall.

Further; we change the name of this file to “Justice for ABM Cleaners”.
We recognise that justice will only be achieved by our cleaners being taken back into LUL!

Members to be advised by email & text.

All affected branches, the Cleaning Grades Committee & the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.

What is a National Executive Committee decision?

This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.

These decisions can often be brief, and may be one of several passed over a period of time. To get a better understanding or find out more information about what the RMT is doing, speak to your rep or attend your branch or Regional Council meeting.
