What is a National Executive Committee decision?

This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.

RMT to Campaign for International LGBT Rights

In response the the resolution from RMT AGM (submitted by RMT LGBT Conference) - which you can read here, the Council of Executives has made the following decision:

That we note and fully support this AGM Resolution. The General Secretary is instructed to implement this Resolution and further place an item on the LGBT Advisory Committee to advise us on what program of events we could mobilise on. We refer to the ETF/ITF Subcommittee this policy so we can take up specific items at these bodies. Finally the General Secretary is to ask the LGBT Advisory Committee for a Volunteer to write an article for the RMT News.
