That we note the resolution from our Piccadilly & District West Branch and that a Mass Members Meeting took place on Wednesday 14 th August 2019 where members
views were sought.

We place this matter in our Southern Sub-Committee for examination and report.

Jubilee South branch passes motion against Boris Johnson's no deal Brexit plan

Jubilee South branch has passed a motion following Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to prorogue parliament in order to stifle action by MPs to attempt to block a no deal Brexit.

The motion

This branch notes Boris Johnson’s attempt to suspend Parliament, with royal assent, in order to force through a no-deal Brexit.

This branch believes that such a no-deal Brexit will have a significantly detrimental impact on our members’ lives, especially our migrant members.

Mick Cash elected as RMT General Secretary for second term

Business as usual following re-election of Mick Cash as RMT steps up fight on all fronts

MICK CASH, re-elected as General Secretary of specialist transport union RMT last night for a further five year term, said that it is business as usual today as the union unites and steps up the fight for workplace justice in a wide range of ongoing dispute.

The RMT union has now begun balloting all Train Operators, Night Tube Train Operators and Instruct Operators on the Jubilee, Central, Northern and Victoria Lines. We are balloting for action short of a strike to drive in manual mode at an appropriate reduced speed to mitigate the creation of excessive noise and to alleviate the distraction, discomfort and anxiety caused in the affected areas.
