RMT Responds As Rail Assaults Up 6%

Commenting on the RSSB annual report today General Secretary Mick Cash said;

"These are truly shocking figures that are a wake up call for the politicians and train companies pressing ahead with cash-led plans to axe staff from trains and stations.

"RMT has warned repeatedly that sacking guards and destaffing the platforms would turn our railways into a criminals' paradise and here is the concrete evidence that shows the consequences of crashing on regardless.

ACAS Talks Halted Over Union Safety Concerns

Talks aimed at settling the dispute over night running on London Underground have been halted this morning (Tuesday) after tube union RMT was called in for an emergency meeting with the safety regulator following a series of serious breaches of safety protocols over the past week directly linked to the RMT overtime ban.

The talks were due to recommence at ACAS this morning but have been shelved to allow for RMT senior representatives to attend the urgent meeting at the ORR.

The safety issues have been raised by RMT over the weekend.

Fleet Agency Trainers Dispute ACAS Update

Today (Monday) I'm attending talks with LUL about our joint dispute with Unite over the outsourcing of LUL jobs (in training) to agency on the Fleet project Heavy Overhaul Programe Lift (HOPL).

This is a major project to overhaul the Central line rolling stock - trains. This project is being used as a Trogan horse to outsource directly employed staff.

RMT and Unite are fighting this tooth and nail and currently we have an overtime ban right across the Fleet membership on LUL.

We have other 'action short' industrial action too.

Update from John Leach at ACAS - Friday July 17

Update from Regional Organiser John Leach .

Today myself and senior reps met with the other unions ASLEF TSSA Unite and LUL at ACAS . We were there from 0945 till 1540

Firstly ,and it was important that we did this ....We clarified with LUL that all rosters and changes to agreements are negotiable and can only be changed using the Trade Union /LUL machinery of negotiation. These are the charters of workers rights in LUL and protect us all day in day out ..

Every Job Matters Strikes Continue

EVERY JOB MATTERS – DEFENDING JOBS ON LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/5)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/158, 3rd July 2015), members are congratulated for taking part in the significant strike action on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th July and I urge all LU Station Staff to continue this fight against the decimation of jobs and conditions on London Underground. There is currently a stalemate situation as LUL have said we can have input but there are simply not enough people left in the mix after the unacceptable job losses to resolve the issues over unacceptable displacements, unacceptable rosters and unacceptable changes to members’ terms and conditions.

RMT Circular: Tube Strikes Called For August 5th and 6th

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 and NIGHT RUNNING – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/0001)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/158/15, 3rd July 2015), members are congratulated for taking part in the significant strike action on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th July involving all 4 trade unions, which saw every station closed and meant that not a single London Underground train ran on Thursday 9th July. The General Grades Committee has noted the intransigent stance from management over this dispute including the divisive pay offer and the failure to address the wider issues of work/life balance caused by the Company trying to bulldoze through the imposition of Night Tube.

Bakerloo News July - August Edition

Bakerloo News is the newsletter for members of the RMT Bakerloo branch. In this edition:

Strike again on 5-6 August!
Our strike on 8-9 July shut down the entire Tube network, but management isn’t budging. That’s why RMT, Aslef, TSSA, and Unite have called another strike for 5-6 August. RMT Bakerloo mounted three successful, well-supported picket lines on 8-9 July, at Queen’s Park, Oxford Circus, and Elephant and Castle, along with comrades from Aslef and TSSA.
