Guidance in the event of Industrial Action

Please note that this document is London Underground's policy not RMT's! We publish it here for information, not because we endorse it!

A key part of this document is in Section 2: 2. Staff Who Take Industrial Action Shifts lost through official industrial action will NOT count under the Attendance at Work procedure. Staff covered by the industrial action who do not attend for work and who are not sick or on leave should be recorded on SAP, as appropriate, under the code for Industrial Action Official.

RMT Special General Meeting - Rule Changes

The RMT is to hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) in November to discuss changes to the Unions rule Book. Motions already listed include changing the amount of years you must be a union member to go to the AGM and how many delegates can be sent to the AGM. The delegates for this conference shall be the same delegates who attended the AGM.

The conference takes place in Doncaster and ANY member of the RMT can attend as an observer.

Important Bus Issues To Be Discussed At Next Busworkers Meeting

A busworkers meeting, organised by the RMT London Busworkers Committee, will take place on monday 24th august 2009, 5pm - 7pm at the Bulstrode pub, Lampton Road, Hounslow, next to Hounslow Central station. Among the issues to be discussed will be:

  • the forced transfer of staff between companies
  • the implications of the introduction of telemetric technology on buses
  • excessive surveillance of staff
  • harrassment of our members
  • wages and conditions

and other issues of concern to our members.

National Lesbian, Gay,Bisexual and Transgender Conference 2010

I'm pleased to be able to announce the dates for next years Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Conference

It will be held in Belfast on the following dates below. The Social event will be held on the Thursday 13th May 2010 and the conference will start at 0900 on Friday 14th February 2010 at the Holiday Inn Hotel

We hope by advertising the conference early, we will be able to have the biggest ever delegation to this crucial conference.

Stratford No 1 Branch Meetings

Stratford Number 1 Branch Meeting

Our branch meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month. They begin at 1700 and generally run until 1900.

The meetings are held at 'The Ex-Servicemen’s Club' in Harvey Road, Leytonstone. This is approximately a two minute walk from Leytonstone underground station.

RMT Young Members push Union Debate to TUC Congress

In December 2009, RMT young members in Central Line West Branch submitted a motion to the 2009 Young Members conference demanding the TUC allow motions from its young member’s conference to be debated at congress. Currently "statements" are agreed and the ratified by the TUC general Council which is appalling and stops young people getting involved in TUC democracy.

National Young Members Conference 2010

The Social event will start at 1900 on Thursday 25th February 2010 and the conference will start at 0900 on Friday 26th February 2010 at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool and End at 1500 on Saturday 27t February

Young Members - Your Voice's Heard

Calling all Young Members (anyone under 30!)

The National Young Members committee would like to know what problems young members face in the workplace, or if there are alot of young members in your workplace that are not in the union.

The Committee will be holding a meeting in September, and we would like to know what to focus on for the next six months, or any areas that need attention.
