RMT continues to oppose ticket office closures

Despite massive opposition from staff and passengers, London Underground has ploughed ahead with its closure programme. The attached spreadsheet, put together by an RMT activist indicates where ticket offices remain open, and their proposed closure dates. The information could be used to assist and encourage other activists to organise protests and activities to voice our opposition against these cuts.

RMT executive to consider next steps over pay and Night Tube following meeting of reps

RMT London Transport Region reps and activists met today to discuss London Underground's latest pay offer.

RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said:

“Today was the first opportunity for RMT reps to come together to consider the revised offer on Night Tube and pay and conditions received from London Underground last week.

Demo at Clapham Common station to kick off the camapign to stop London Underground targeting Glen because of his Trade Union activities.

London Underground bosses could face a London-wide Tube strike by RMT union members if they proceed with disciplinary action against union activist Glen Hart.

Bosses tried to sack Glen last year during strikes over cuts to stations.

LONDON UNDERGROUND DISPUTE
A Revised offer has been placed before us and will be discussed at a Reps meeting on Tuesday 1st December after which a report will be placed before the GGC.

GLEN HART
An all grades ballot is being prepared and we need to build support for our victimised Brother.

DLR
Successful two day strike action was held between the 3rd and 5th November the first strike action ever held on DLR.

RMT London Calling gets results

 

LTRC London Calling newsletter demands that LUL stop provaracating and put the revised pay offer to the RMT as promised at ACAS last week.

The newsletter was posted at 1600 on November 24

At 1800 LUL deliver via email the revised offer and post it on their intranet.

Coincidence? Possibly.

More Piccadilly line delays

Rolling stock crisis on Piccadilly Line leads to another rush hour of delays.

A rolling stock crisis on the Piccadilly Line, London Underground’s fourth busiest line transporting an average of 600,000 people a day, has led to yet another morning of delays for passengers today as warnings from tube union RMT about the state of the current fleet have come home to roost with a vengeance.
This is the third rush hour morning in a row where the fleet shortage has hit services hard.

Rolling stock crisis on Piccadilly Line leads to two days of severe delays

A rolling stock crisis on the Piccadilly Line, London Underground’s fourth busiest line transporting an average of 600,000 people a day, has led to two days of severe delays for passengers as warnings from tube union RMT about the state of the current fleet have come home to roost with a vengeance. 
 
RMT, which is currently in dispute with LU on the Piccadilly Line over a range of issues, says that up to 17 trains are out of action due to wheel flats alone – worn running gear that poses a danger for passengers and staff alike.
 

Property development focused TFL bill before Parliament again

The Transport for London Bill is before Parliament today - Monday 16 November. This bill is designed to help TfL fill the funding gap arising from impending cuts in the grant it receives from central government, by allowing it to use offshore companies to develop its property.

Leaks show that, from the turn of the decade, the government will cut £700 million a year from its contribution to TfL’s budget.
