RMT secures 4 year pay rise for London Underground members

Dear colleague

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 – LONDON UNDERGROUND

You will know that your union had rejected two “full and final” offers on pay from London Underground, to cover the years commencing on 1st April on 2019-2022. These offers were rejected as your representatives expressed the anger and concern of you and your colleagues as the offers did nothing to address issues of fatigue and excessive working hours or the spiralling cost of living.

Coronavirus: Trains Safety Council Update

Covid-19 crisis update
Today the RMT THSC took part in a conference call with LU to discuss the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and
measures that were being put in place to reduce risk to all parties.

In response to this crisis emergency timetables are now in place so as to allow key workers to get around. This plan has clearly not worked with trains, especially early in the morning, carrying large amounts of people making social distancing impossible.

· Year 1 - 2.7% (RPI Feb 2019 +0.2%)

· Year 3 - RPI Feb 2021 +0.2%

Oyster Card deposit change and workplace violence

- Please download the attached poster and display it in your station.

In a recent incident at Dagenham Heathway, a customer smashed the SCP window with a bike lock. This is one of many reports we have received of physical and verbal
assaults on staff directly relating to the oyster card
deposit being withdrawn.

What this means in simple terms is, people who have purchased an oyster card on or after the 23rd February can no longer get their fiver back as it is now a non-
refundable charge.
