RMT on Parsons Green station explosion

General Secretary Mick Cash said;

"RMT is aware of the incident at Parsons Green this morning and the unions safety reps are awaiting further facts from London Underground. The union is supporting our members at this time.

"The incident shows once again that tube staff are the first responders in emergency situations and the clear need for safety and security to remain the number one priority and for the resources and staffing to be in place to deal with all eventualities."

RMT considering options as LUL de-recognises our reps

DE-RECOGNITION OF REPS – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/20/6)

The following resolution was recently received from our Bakerloo Branch:-

“This Branch notes LU’s unilateral de-recognition of 15 of our elected stations reps, including one in our Branch.

This is a significant attack on our union’s democracy which disenfranchises our members and amounts to a form of union busting. It will have a particularly detrimental effect on Night Tube and part-time members.

Central line drivers: Vote yes to defend Danny Davis

DISMISSAL, D. DAVIS, TRAIN OPERATOR, LOUGHTON – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/4/1)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/368/17, 23rd August 2017), ballot papers were posted to all Central Line Train Operator, Night Tube Train Operator and Instructor Operator grades on Tuesday 29th August so members should have received them. The ballot closes on Tuesday 19th September 2017.

RMT continues ACAS talks over Four day week

We note the report from our Lead Officer that the letter 26.8.17 from the company regarding “progress” made at ACAS which is somewhat exaggerated and makes claims about concessions that were not made in the ACAS meeting.

Regarding the request contained in the letter that the union end the dispute; this is not currently possible and we remain in dispute at this stage.

Dispute situation arising as LU bosses derecognise station reps

We note and welcome the resolution from our Bakerloo Line Branch regarding the imposed de-recognition of many of our stations reps which amounts to a form of union busting, is a significant attack on our union’s democracy, disenfranchises our members and if LU is allowed to get away with de-recognising reps on stations, the
majority function on LU, they will be emboldened to attack our levels of representation elsewhere on the job.

Work life balance dispute ACAS update

ACAS UPDATE
Your union RMT entered into dispute yesterday over management's failure to adhere to agreements made in the last pay deal.

These are as follows:
- Failure to allow a referendum on the 4 Day trail on the Jubilee line when it finishes in September.
- Failure to introduce a range of pro rota working arrangements to enhance T/ops work life balance.
- Failure to give your Union assurances in regard to no increases in Weekend working for existing T/ops.

Talks are ongoing at ACAS and your Union will update you on any developments,
