Further industrial action possible on tube cuts if assurances on contracts and agreements not forthcoming

Dear RMT members,

LUL Pay and Night Tube 2015/Every Job Matters ( Fit for the Future Stations) Regional Organisers update

This morning myself and Council of Executives member John Reid reported back developments on the above issues  to assembled LUL RMT reps from across all 7 Functions on LUL.

Prior to this LUL reps had met on the 1st December to discuss the offer from LUL on all the above issues. Following that meeting, RMT's General Grades took the decision to instruct me to seek further talks with LUL to seek an improvement on the pay offer. I have written to LUL and we are still waiting for that meeting. On the issues of Fit for the future stations ( all part of dispute resolution) we were to make progress on its negative impact.

On the subject of Fit for the future, additionally, a number of other issues in the Comprehensive dispute resolution have come to our attention. LUL have advised us that staff will be required to sign new contracts. The company are suggesting an imposition of a framework agreement and rosters.  On these important principals I have written to the company and demanded that there must be no imposition.

I was able to report back on ongoing talks this week on these matters. The outcome of which will be critical.

Following on from this morning’s meeting of reps I will submit a report for next Tuesday's General Grades Committee. By then we will either have these assurances or not from LUL.

RMT reps are furious at the way in which thousands of (station staff ) RMT members are being treated. They see the impact of any grades agreements being ripped up, or contracts being forced to sign. They see clearly that these issues effect all grades.

It is my view as RMT Full time officer on LUL, that if these assurances are not forthcoming from LUL and  we have not been able to make real progress on the issues of dispute, then further Industrial action could follow.

In solidarity,

John Leach
