Neaden traincrew depot (Metropolitan Line) ballot closes today

IMPOSITION OF ROSTERS, TRAINS OPERATORS, NEASDEN TRAIN CREW DEPOT (METROPOLITAN LINE) - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/8/2)

The following resolution was submitted by our Neasden Branch: -

“Neasden branch notes that London Underground have implemented the WTT 342 from 12/09/21.

We have held a meeting with schedules previously and the WTT & Roster was scrutinised by our reps. The company was informed that after scrutiny, we had rejected them with the reasons given. Despite this, the company have gone ahead and implemented the WTT 342. The introduction of this leaves us in the position where we have a reduction on the roster, work life balance issue and an in balance of turns.

We also believe that the company have not discussed the removal of the 2 minutes walking time locally as per the level 1 agreement.

Neasden depot has uniqueness with level crossings and not stopping at our own depot. The removal has a detrimental effect to our Neasden crews.

We request the NEC to inform London Underground that we are to enter into a dispute with them on this matter and ballot all drivers and instructor operators at Neasden Train Crew Depot (Metropolitan line) for industrial action and action short of strike, in the hope to find a resolution.

I urge you all to pass this motion and send a strong message to London Underground.”

Your National Executive Committee has considered the resolution and took the following decision: -

We note the resolution from our Neasden branch and that LUL has imposed unacceptable rosters on our Train Operator members at Neasden.

RMT will not accept this imposition and the General secretary is therefore instructed to write to LUL informing them that we are now in dispute over this matter.

The General Secretary is further instructed to commence a ballot of relevant members for strike action in furtherance of this dispute.

Relevant members to be informed by text and email. LTRC and branches to be informed.”

Once LUL were informed that we were in dispute over this matter correspondence was received from the company. The NEC considered the correspondence and noting that it failed the address the concerns of members, LUL were informed that we would be balloting our members for industrial action. The ballot closes today, Thursday 16th December 2021.

I trust this keeps you fully advised and I will inform branches of any further developments on this matter.
