Regional Organiser's 'Every Job Matters' Talks Report

"We will fight, be prepared for strike action"

Today myself and senior reps reported back to ACAS the results of the previous 8 weeks of talks on the issues Fit for Future Stations .

The fact is that management still intend to close every ticket office, use selection to make people reapply for their jobs, cut 953 jobs and tear up agreements.

The RMT's position is that LUL must confirm that the proposals must be completely withdrawn and no changes must be implemented at all. LUL have told us that they will respond to this position by Monday 14th next week.

Be clear these are the first wave of the £4.2 billion of TFL austerity cuts. We have to fight these cuts, we have no choice. Today LUL management at the highest level were told that.

Next week I will report back to the RMT Executive, we will fight, be prepared for strike action, which will be used to protect our jobs, the safety of the underground the principal of decent staffed stations, and in resistance of these cuts.

We have a reps meeting on Wednesday at 11.00. Details to follow.
