What is a National Executive Committee decision?
This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.

We note the resolution from our London Transport Regional Council, and share its concern that ‘Wave And Pay’ forms part of London Underground Ltd’s plan to remove ticket office and other station staff.
In line with the resolution, we instruct the General Secretary to:
- contact the Greater London Assembly to find out TfL’s response to the Assembly’s questions, especially where they relate to ticket office staffing
- work with supportive GLA and TfL Board members to maintain ticket office staff on stations
- research whether the three final phases have been given funding, and whether there are opportunities to frustrate or influence the ‘Wave And Pay’ project
- support the Regional Council and its Stations and Revenue Grades Committee in producing campaign publicity about the project’s flaws as outlined in the resolution
We welcome the Regional Council’s resolve to campaign on this issue, and instruct the General Secretary to ask the Regional Council what assistance it needs with this, and for progress reports.
