JUSTICE FOR ABM CLEANERS

As you may know, RMT is currently in dispute with ABM in our campaign for “Justice for ABM Cleaners.”

Yesterday, 26th June 2019, your Regional Organiser John Leach along with RMT ABM representatives met the company's Contract Director and his HR team face to face to demand improvements on the key issues at stake in this dispute:

- Free Staff Travel
- Decent Company Sick Pay
- Access to a direct pension scheme, same as the TfL pension scheme

On these specific needs, ABM said they would take them back to TfL.

At the meeting, RMT made it very clear that we will fight very hard for these improvements and we will rally our members and ballot and take strike action if necessary to secure these aims.

We also discussed with management our continued concerns over the reduction in the amount of cleaners employed on this contract - RMT cleaners on trains, stations and in accommodation are being worked harder than ever, as you know very well - that agency workers have left and their work has been forced onto others. It is clear that less cleaners saves ABM money and so RMT will continue to campaign and push back on these job cuts too.

On the issue of stalled talks on revised Collective Bargaining Arrangements on the contract, I am pleased to report that with a new HR team in place these talks are being set up and this crucial issue will soon be resolved hopefully.

At the moment, your union remains in dispute with the company. We continue to organise and prepare for the ballot, prepare to strike if necessary and to stand up in our fight for Justice for Cleaners.
