SEASON'S GREETINGS FROM THE GENERAL SECRETARY

I would like to wish the very best to all RMT members and their families during the festive season.

Many RMT members do not get as much time off as others during the Christmas and New Year period, and many of you will be out working - keeping our transport networks and systems going, or doing vital maintenance and renewals to our infrastructure during this season.

To all of our hard-working members I hope that you are as safe as can be at work and at rest, and that you get at least some time to enjoy this period.

We now have the Covid pandemic surging again and I urge all of you to take the necessary precautions to protect yourselves, colleagues, households and communities, at work and during rest and leisure.

The New Year will bring many challenges for our members in our transport and energy sectors which we cannot ignore. RMT will not be passive and we are committed to meeting those challenges and defending our members in every company and sector.

We will need unity and solidarity within our organisation so that we can be the best and most effective union for our members.

I look forward to working with all of our members, activists, Reps, Officers and union staff, in building that unity and campaigning spirit in 2022.

So, let's face the challenges together, and on behalf of the National Executive Committee and the National Union, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
