Tube Lines strike is ON - Two important points for all Tube Lines and London Underground staff

1. Tube Lines has failed in it attempt to get the High Court to grant an injunction banning the Tube Lines Strike.

2. Management have today put out propaganda trying to infer that the emergency response unit E.R.U. will come to work during the strike. The RMT has had a meeting with all reps including the E.R.U and they have confirmed that the strike will be rock solid on all departments.

The absence of the E.R.U. from the whole network and the absence of signalling technicians on the Northern, Jubilee and Piccadilly Lines means that you may be in serious and imminent danger and have the right not to work on health and safety grounds. If these jobs are covered by unqualified staff there are also inherent dangers (see proformas and safety advice issued).

If management are telling you that they have licensed and competent people on duty alert your health and safety reps and ask to see their i.r.s.e licences and competency details. Do not endanger yourself or your passengers, work safely at all times.

Yours sincerely
