Your Train Functional reps (from both unions) along with John Leach met the employers at ACAS on Tuesday afternoon (September 15th). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a joint RMT/Aslef proposal to introduce Night Tube.
Th next meeting of the London Transport Regional Council will be on Thursday 24 September 1630-1830
Please try and attend and make sure your own branch is represented at this important organising meeting.
There will be reports from the Counil of Executive member John Reid and from the Regional Organiser John Leach.
Negotiations are developing on a daily basis so I will wait until we have a clearer position before producing aanother SFC News. However, I know reps and members want to know how talks are going so here are some recent developments:

Our MPs will soon get their first chance to debate the government's Trade Union Bill, as it receives its second reading in the Commons. It's an important chance to raise early objections to this draconian legislation.

Further to our message of last week advising you of the reps meeting next Tuesday, please be advised of the following updates.
The reps meeting will be going ahead and the date remains Tuesday 15th September at 10.00 hours. What has changed is that management have since agreed to paid release of all representatives, subject to the normal service requirements.

First up is a demo against the BIS Secretary Sajid Javid and an issuing of an injunction to him.

He was elected on a majority of less than 38% - but strives to impose a threshold of 40% for Trade Union strike ballots
