Further Strike Action In Ongoing DLR Interserve Dispute

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – INTERSERVE FACILITIES (KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS CONTRACT) (DLR/0001/I(KAD))

Further to my previous Circular (IR/181/15, 31st July 2015), RMT members working for Interserve (KAD) took part in a third round of strike action in respect of the above dispute and the Branch Secretary and RMT Rep recently met the new management to discuss the issues in this long-running dispute. They were promised a response from the Company but to date, there has still been no response received.

RMT to begin ballot for action on Docklands Light Railway

RAIL UNION RMT confirmed today that it will begin balloting nearly 700 staff across all grades on Keolis Amey Docklands Light Railway for both strike action and action short of a strike in a dispute over a range of serious unresolved issues that are wrecking industrial relations.

The ballot will open later this week and will close on the 22nd October.

The key issues at the heart of the dispute are:

TfL PENSIONS CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE (PCC) ELECTIONS

TfL Pension Fund members are now receiving a ballot paper asking them to vote for candidates in the Section Three (LUL & Tube Lines employees) PCC election.

RMT members Paul O’Brien and Paul Murphy are standing for re-election and have been nominated by the London Transport Regional Council as their preferred candidates.

RMT calls on TfL to implement measures to tighten controls on Uber

TAXI UNION RMT has called on Transport for London to implement measures set out in response to a consultation on Private Hire Vehicles which would tighten controls on apps like Uber and help protect the future of the licensed taxi trade in the Capital and the safety of the travelling public.

Transport for London has today outlined the measures which it could take to limit the operation of smartphone apps (such as Uber) in the immediate hire market.

The Private Hire Regulations Review, which closed on 19 June, received over 4,000 responses.

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS – KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS (DLR/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/224/15, 23rd September 2015), and following further correspondence from the Lead Officer and Branch Secretary, the General Grades Committee has taken the decision to inform the Company that we are in dispute and to organise a ballot of members working for KAD for strike action and action short of strike action over a catalogue of issues, which are outlined below.
