Resolutions passed at RMT Disabled Members Conference
Submitted by Janine on 3 October, 2020 - 16:03(South West Midlands branch)
Sodexo has formally notified RMT of their intention to cut up to 30 posts from the TfL catering contract. RMT reps met with Sodexo management on 25 September and stated our union's total opposition to any job cuts whatsoever. Sodexo catering workers should not bear the brunt of the economic crisis, or pay for it with their jobs.

Dear colleague
Underground outsourcing company doubles its profits while cutting safety-critical cleaners jobs in midst of COVID crisis.
TUBE UNION RMT today called on the Mayor of London to take back control of the Underground cleaning and put an end to the outdated dogma of outsourcing, after it emerged that the outsourcing company ABM has doubled its profits in the last financial year while cutting the number of cleaners working to keep Londoners safe on the tube.
RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2020 - TFL (LUL/0001/TFL)
Further to my previous Circular (IR/339/20, 27th August 2020), the Lead Officer submitted a further report advising that TfL management intend to implement the pay offer which is based on performance pay and has been rejected by this union.
BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, SERVICE CONTROL, OSBORNE HOUSE - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)
Further to my previous Circular (IR/339/20, 27th August 2020), this ballot has since concluded and our Service Control members at Osborne House have once again delivered a magnificent - and unanimous - vote to take strike action and action short of a strike. They have made their views crystal clear to management and for that they are to be congratulated on achieving another powerful vote in relation to their ongoing dispute.
REORGANISATION AND JOB CUTS - SODEXO (TFL CONTRACT) (LUL/15/4)
Further to my previous Circular (IR/339/20, 27th August 2020) and despite our protests, Sodexo now intends to proceed with its reorganisation including 30 redundancies and has commenced consultation with those at risk. The Lead Officer will also be meeting with the Company to discuss this matter.
Dear Colleague,
OSIME BROWN: URGENT ACTION
The union is supporting the campaign to stop the deportation of Osime Brown, a 21-year-old, black, autistic, learning-disabled man imprisoned on a 'joint enterprise' conviction for being present when a mobile phone was stolen. Osime has been given a date of 7 October for his release from prison into the custody of the immigration service in preparation for his deportation to Jamaica. We have to act urgently.
