Eurostar Cleaners' Action Forces Employer to Talk

Carlisle Cleaning Services and the RMT trade union have today agreed to attend meaningful negotiations hosted by ACAS this Friday in order to attempt to resolve the issues in the current industrial dispute. To allow the negotiations to take place it has been agreed to suspend the programme of strike action that was recently announced.

The Department of Transport launched a consultation on the review of Domestic Drivers' Hours Rules. The rules, first introduced in the 1930s and largely unchanged since the 1960s, cover issues including maximum driving time, breaks, rest time, daily and weekly rest, record keeping and enforcement.
Our branch meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month. They begin at 1700 and generally run until 1900.
