2nd June 2014
Circular No IR/149/14

Dear Colleagues,

TRAIN TECHNICIANS IN THE DRIVERS’ CAB – LONDON UNDERGROUND- BAKERLOO LINE (LUL/4/4)

We have entered into dispute with London Underground over what we believe to be a problem with the procedure for Train Technicians entering the cab to deal with faults. We have demanded that if a Train Technician is attending a train because of a defect, then the train must remain stationary until the fault is rectified. If the fault cannot be rectified whilst stationary, the train should be taken out of service.

Management have failed to meet our demands and consequently we have begun the process of balloting all our Driver members on the Bakerloo Line for industrial action short of a strike.

Ballot papers will be dispatched late this week with a closing date of Thursday 19th June 2014. Should members not receive their voting papers by Friday 13th June 2014, they should contact the helpline on 0800 376 3706 or Head Office on 0207 387 4771 and ask to speak to Industrial Relations.
