London Transport Region Executive Member Report May 2015

COUNCIL OF EXECUTIVES REPORT MAY 28TH 2015 JOHN REID

PAY AND NIGHT TUBE
We met with Aslef, Tssa and Unite and have embarked on a joint ballot for strike action over the derisory pay offer and the imposition of Night Tube.

EVERY JOB MATTERS
We note the correspondence on file from our Lead Officer and the resolution from Finsbury Park Branch. We instruct the General Secretary to re-ballot all of our Station Staff members on London Underground on the unresolved dispute over Every Job Matters. Which despite huge opposition from staff and public has seen the destruction of ticket offices which we implacably oppose.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to ballot London Underground members on:

1. The huge unacceptable job losses on London Underground
2. The unacceptable rosters being imposed on Station Staff
3. The resultant unacceptable displacement of huge numbers of staff on London Underground.
4. Detrimental changes to Employment policies

We further instruct the General Secretary to organise a ballot of all of our Station Staff members on London Underground for strike action and action short of strike action. The ballot to be conducted, completed and returned by no later than Tuesday 30th June.

We further instruct the General Secretary to produce the necessary propaganda material to go out to every member on London Underground.

INTRODUCTION OF AGENCY TRAINERS, FLEET- LONDON UNDERGROUND
We are balloting due to a breakdown in Industrial relations with management and a serious attack on the core work agreements.

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS 0F SERVICE TfL
Still in talks over the inadequate and insulting pay offer.

KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS INTERSERVE
We are currently on strike.
RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said:

“The union had no option but to move to a strike for 48 hours of DLR staff hired in through Interserve in this dispute. The union will not sit back while core issues on pay and working conditions are left unresolved. The ballot result delivered a huge democratic mandate that shows the anger amongst our members and it is about time that Interserve woke up and took note.

“Our reps are in no doubt that we needed to send a clear message to management that staff are prepared to fight to demand decent rewards and recognition, a safe working environment, decent working conditions and will not be forced into accepting inferior pay arrangements from either KAD or their approved contractors . Our members will be sending that message loud and clear over the next two days in a dispute which has ramifications for the entire outsourcing industry in the UK and its virulent anti-union stance.

TUBE LINES
Tube Lines Night Transplant Drivers at Ruislip Depot to be balloted for strike action and action short of to defend our members rights and to fight against the imposition of compulsary overtime.
We congratulate or Tubeline reps for winning discounted travel passes.
M DOOR ALARM PROCEDURE
We are to ballot our Train Operators and Instructor operators for strike action and action short of.

DONATIONS
I have donated £360 towards leaflets and £420 to TUSC out of my expenses. If I call an all grades strike I will donate wages to LTRC.
