RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2013-2015 – TRANSPORT FOR LONDON (TFL/0001)

As you will be aware, TfL members have been in dispute with the Company and taking on going industrial action short of strike action (see Circular No. IR/236/15, 1st October 2015 “Pay for Performance, Defend your Pensionable Pay – Transport for London”).

However in the meantime, the Company advised us of the following arrangements in respect of the 2013/14 pay review:-

·         There will not be a salary increase for 2013/14.

·         The Company will make a one off lump sum (non-consolidated) payment based on an employees’ payband. This will be a one off lump sum payment for those eligible for PRP and receiving a ‘3’ rating that recognises that those in higher paybands tend to earn more (figures are gross):

  • £495 for payband 1.
  • £620 for payband 2.
  • £880 for payband 3.
  • The above payment applicable to payband 1 will also apply to those employees on spine point 14, on payband 1.
  • The pay ranges for paybands 1-3 and the spine points will remain at their current level (as at April 2013).
  • There will be no specific meetings to review non-permanent labour or other efficiencies in ways of working, but the Company intends to continue to engage on these issues as appropriate through BAU Company Council meetings.

Also, the offer in respect of the 2014/15 pay review is as follows:-

Revised Areas of Future Engagement

  • A commitment to hold discussions on Strategic Resourcing – Review of NPL, Review of causes of absence and on-going engagement on performance management.
  • Additionally to maintain visibility of areas where there may be an impact from Night Tube and examine points raised about salary.

This matter has been considered by the General Grades Committee which has noted that as the offer is conditional upon agreement by all unions to each element we cannot accept the offer which would require a wholesale acceptance of PRP. We will continue to campaign with the other Unions against this offer and I will keep you informed of all developments regarding “Pay for Performance, Defend your Pensionable Pay – Transport for London”.
