RMT secures 22.35% pay rise for 'Ops 1' workers on Emirates Air Line

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2018 - DOPPELMAYR EMIRATES AIR LINE CABLE CAR (TFL/0001/CC)

 

In line with union policy, a claim was submitted to the company for a substantial increase in rates of pay and improvements to conditions of service. Discussions took place and the following offer was received:- 

  • A 14.35% increase to Technician salaries which will start at £36,000 p/a, increasing to £36,500 p/a on successful completion of the probationary period, backdated to 1st October 2018.
  • A 22.35% increase to Ops 1 salaries which will start at £25,780 p/a, increasing to £26,250 p/a on successful completion of the probationary period backdated to 1st October 2018.
  • A 15.80% increase to Ops 2 salaries which will be £28,500 p/a backdated to 1st October 2018.
  • Bonuses will no longer be paid.
  • An additional two days annual leave will be granted to employees with 2+ years' service, applicable from the date of agreement from RMT. There will be a 5 day cap on accrued holiday per time served.

Following consultation with affected members, the consensus was for the above offer to be accepted. The National Executive Committee congratulated members, our negotiators and the Docklands Light Railway Branch for securing this good offer and took the decision to advise the Company of our acceptance. I have asked that the increases, along with backdated monies, are paid to members at the earliest opportunity.
