  • The CSS bonus is due to be paid in one of these two.
  • Your branch may be able to help if you are suffering hardship: speak to your rep or branch secretary.
  • RMT’s Executive is discussing making more money available for striking members.

In any case, think what you stand to lose if TfL/LUL imposes these cuts - 20% pay cut? Frozen pension? No job?!

At 10:00 hours yesterday morning, I as Regional Organiser and eleven other lead reps from all grades attended talks at ACAS to see if we could find a way forward in this dispute.

Violence Against Women: issues in the local elections

The End Violence Against Women coalition is highlighting the following facts and issues in the forthcoming local elections:

  • Domestic and sexual violence in numbers: In 2012 around 1.2 million women suffered domestic abuse, over 400,000 women were sexually assaulted, 70,000 women were raped, thousands were stalked (Home Office)

Bosses Attempt To Interfere In RMT Internal Democracy Reprehensible

This General Grades Committee notes the report from our Lead Officer and are extremely dismayed that London Underground has failed to make any significant offer at ACAS that would be acceptable to this union and our members. Not only that, but LU’s last minute conditional demand that we withdraw our dispute over this is completely inappropriate and not how this union does business. It is also a reprehensible attempt to interfere with the internal democracy of this union. As a consequence our strike action scheduled for next week remains on.

This week saw the RMT take their second 48 hour period of strike action against London underground's devastating plan to close all ticket offices and shut nearly a thousand jobs. Many tube lines were suspended by the RMT action, with big delays across all other lines.

RMT is mid way through a planned five days of all-out strike action across London Underground after long-running talks hosted by ACAS, aimed at settling the dispute over cuts to jobs, ticket offices and safety, were wrecked by a combination of management intransigence and the introduction of additional measures that actually worsened the original toxic package. It has also been made crystal clear to the union that this is just a first tranche of cuts with even harder attacks being lined up for the near future.

The RMT is today (2nd May, 2014) back at ACAS following the recent industrial action.

Unfair Treatment of Brother McKoy Leeds To Fleet Strike Ballot

We note the resolution from our LU Fleet Branch share their sentiments on the unfair treatment of Brother McKoy by the COO Operations Management Management.

We also agree that the intervention of a COO manager on our members on Fleet side of LU has serious implications and sets a dangerous precedent for our members. We agree to enter into dispute with the company over this matters and ballot all our LU Fleet members for industrial action short of strike action. We instruct the General Secretary to work with LU Fleet branch to serve notice on this matter within 2 weeks.

RMT, TSSA And Unite To Take Joint TfL Strike Action

We note the correspondence from the Lead Officer and senior reps from TfL No 1 branch informing us that TSSA and Unite have called strike action on this matter on Friday 9th May.

While this union, in the interest of solidarity and unity agrees to call our members out on strike on the same date, we are appalled that these unions did not coincide their action with those of our members on London Underground.
