Ballot to be prepared of Piccadilly Line drivers

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, PICCADILLY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

27/03/17

Further to my previous Circular (IR/377/16, 6th December 2016), in which I advised that the NEC had taken the decision to cancel the planned strike action as the major issues of this dispute had been ceded by management and were therefore resolved, the following resolution has now been received from Piccadilly & District West Branch:-

“The Piccadilly and District West Branch noted the lack of action from senior Piccadilly Line managers and the JNP Director in settling our dispute issues from early 2016, in particular; download training, training reviews, cap reviews and the specific issue of our H&S Rep Gary Fitzpatrick as management allowed the member of staff who threatened him to return to this workplace.

We instruct the GS to carry out a ballot for strike action and action short of strike action of all our members under the spheres of influence on the Piccadilly Line”.

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has taken the decision to convene a meeting of all Piccadilly Line Train Operator Reps with the SAGS, Lead Officer and NEC in attendance. Also to prepare a ballot for strike action and action short of a strike of all Piccadilly Line Train Operators and Instructor Operators. I am currently acting in accordance with this decision and will keep Branches advised of all further developments.
