Solidarity with Picturehouse cinema workers

The RMT London Transport Regional Council is supporting workers at Picturehouse Cinemas fighting for a living wage, union recognition, and other demands.

Workers at five cinemas in London, and one in Brighton, have been involved in a long-running dispute which has seen them take multiple days of strike action. Four workplace reps for the workers' union, BECTU, have been sacked.

An update on the water fiasco

As you know, or might not, the facilities management company LU employed to carry out risk assessments and testing of our water have been accused of not completing paperwork. This leaves us in a position of not know which depots or stations have had 4 weekly testing for legionella and other less regular testing for bacteria such as e-coli carried out.

RMT calls for Tube job cuts inquiry after Canning Town death

Tube union RMT today called for an independent inquiry into London Undergrounds disastrous stations job cuts programs " Fit for the Future " after the ORR - the government regulator - issue London Underground with a legal "improvement notice " following the tragic death of a customer at Canning Town on the 29th of  January this year .

RMT demands reversal of TfL cuts

The RMT have repeated demands for  the reversal of TFL and Network Rail cuts follokwing this morning's transport chaos.

General Secretary Mick Cash said;

"The state of transport services right across London this morning serves as the clearest possible warning to this Government that their policy of hacking back the budgets of both Network Rail and Transport for London risks dragging tube and rail in the capital city into permanent chaos.

Central line drivers to be balloted after overly severe treatment of colleague

We have received the updated report from our Central Line East Branch regarding the highhanded and overly severe treatment of Bro Davis by London Underground management and note the following:

- There are many comparators of similar and even more serious incidents where the Train Op had either no action taken against them or a much more appropriate sanction. These were ignored.

- Mitigations contributing to Bro Davis’ incident around his wife’s ongoing illness and home life were brushed over.
