Industrial action

When negotiations fail, RMT members take action

Ballot matrix of Interserve security members to be prepared

Subject: CONDITIONS OF SERVICE, SECURITY STAFF – INTERSERVE (TFL CONTRACT)

That we note the report from our Leads Officer regarding the draconian treatment suffered by our Security Guard members at the hands of Interserve.

We instruct the General Secretary to advise the company we are in dispute, to prepare a ballot matrix of our affected Interserve members and to organise consultation meetings with our members regarding our next steps forward.

Members to be advised by email & text.

RMT to ballot all ABM cleaner members for Strike Action

Subject: RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE, CLEANERS – ABM (LU CONTRACT)

That we note the report from our Lead Officer following the meeting with our ABM union representatives; and that no movement on any of our matters raised have been addressed by the company. We therefore instruct the General Secretary to advise the company that we are in dispute over their failure to provide free staff travel, a company wide sick pay scheme
or decent company pension.

Three day strike called in train preperation cuts plan dispute

Subject: EXTENDED TRAIN PREPERATION SCHEDULE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from our Lead Officer regarding the request from our LU Fleet Branch for industrial action due to the planned imposition of vastly inferior; bordering on non-existent safety checks on trains before they enter passenger service, which is solely for the purpose of implementing the Conservative Government’s Department for Transport and the London Mayors cuts to London Underground.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/506/18, 21st November 2018) a series of talks with the Company took place at ACAS before Christmas in an effort to seek a resolution to this dispute. There was some movement on the key issues and the National Executive Committee took the decision to suspend the strike action on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd December 2018.

Waterloo & City Line ballot called

Subject: REMOVAL OF DETRAINMENT STAFF, WATERLOO, WATERLOO & CITY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the current live ballot mandate to protect our members and travelling public from the company’s cavalier approach to detrainment is about to expire due to
the government anti-trades union laws; and that we need to conduct another ballot to assist our members to continue working safely.
