RMT in dispute over tube driver work life balance concerns

POST-AGREEMENT JOINT INITIATIVES FOR TRAIN OPERATORS – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/0004)

Since the 2015 pay settlement, joint discussions regarding the post-agreement joint initiatives for Train Operators have been taking place. The Lead Officer has now reported concerns that despite these talks, aspects of the settlement remain unresolved, most notably a failure to adhere to commitments to better work life balance arrangements for LUL Trainstaff.

Ballot of City Cruises members prepared

I have recently been made aware that RMT member Hairia Abdo has been dismissed from her employment at City Cruises. It is the view of our members that this decision is overly harsh and is an example of management applying the strongest possible sanction without proper consideration of all the circumstances.

Train driver Davis ballot begins on 29th of August

The National Executive Committee has recently considered the case of Brother Danny Davis and taken the decision to conduct a ballot for strike action amongst all RMT Train Operators, Night Tube Train Operators and Instructor Operator members on the Central Line – Hainault, Leytonstone, Loughton, West Ruislip and White City Traincrew Depots.

Piccadilly Workshop action suspended as company commits to permanent job contracts

FIXED TERM CONTRACTS, WORKSHOP STAFF, PICCADILLY LINE – TUBE LINES (LUL/13/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/298/17, 13th July 2017), and following the massive ‘YES’ vote by members in the recent ballot, RMT Reps had a strong position during talks with the Company and after a number of meetings, the following proposal was received:-

The Company commits to transfer all 35 FTC staff to permanent FTE contracts

RMT issues advice to members on the 'HOT' procedure

Further to Head Office Circular NP/111/17 the National Executive Committee instructed that advice be provided to RMT members on LUL's HOT Procedure.

Please also find attached a copy of the advice and a copy of RMT's pamphlet on 'serious and imminent' danger.

RMT congratulates DLR members as new machinery of negotiation agreed

MACHINERY OF NEGOTIATION – KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS (DLR/0005)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/204/17, 17th May 2017), the meeting with the NEC, SAGS, RO and Reps has taken place and following final amendments to the revised machinery of negotiation, the negotiating team recommended its acceptance.

Further to my circular IR/247/17 14th June 2017, the result of the ballot of our members has been received from the independent scrutineer and was considered by the National Executive Committee at the end of last week. The result is as follows: -

Cubic pay rise offer accepted

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2017 – CUBIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS

The NEC has considered a report from the lead officer outlining a 2.75% no-strings pay offer for our members working for Cubic Transportation. Having considered the views of our affected members via their reps this proposal has now been accepted by the NEC. I have informed the company of our acceptance of their proposals.
