Ballot to be prepared as LU managers 'attempt to unpick agreed reasonable adjustment'

Subject: DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the resolution from our Bakerloo Line Branch and agree that its not enough for the company to portray themselves as a progressive equal opportunities employer to staff and publicly, if they allow their junior managers to regularly attempt to unpick agreed reasonable working adjustments for our member; which will have a potential impact on all our disabled members of staff.

We instruct the General Secretary to take up the matter in-line with the resolution:

RMT goes into dispute as CSA dismissed

Subject: DISMISSAL, G. PLAISTER, CSA, PICCADILLY CIRCUS AREA – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the resolution and share the concerns of our Bakerloo Line Branch around the arbitrary discounting of evidence and severity of sanction in comparison to
similar cases.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to pursue the following course of defensive actions should Bro Glen Plaister’s coming appeal not result in his reinstatement; in line with the resolution:

Members vote for industrial action over workplace violence concerns

Subject: VIOLENCE AT WORK – EAST HAM BRANCH LOCATIONS

We congratulate our workplace representatives and East Ham Branch for campaigning and organising this ballot when the company had just abandoned our members to their fate; and our members for resolving to protect themselves and each other through their unions lawful democratic processes.

We note that the ballot result for action short of strike is as follows:-
Total votes cast 52 ( 68%)
Number voting “Yes” 49 ( 94.2%)
Number voting “No” 3
Spoilt Papers 0

Urgent Safety Ballot - District Line East

You will all be aware that there has been a massive increase in the incidence of anti-social behaviour and assaults on members of LUL staff in recent times. On the District East Group in particular there have been a number of violent incidents on trains and stations which have caused grave concerns for staff safety, particularly for those lone-working.

Night Tube station staff - meet your reps

The RMT invites Night Tube station workers to meet your reps at 2130 on the 23rd of August in the training room at Kings Cross St Pancreas station.

RMT is demanding better pay and conditions for all London Underground workers. Come and discuss how this affects you, the latest developments in talks, and what action we can take to press our case.

Newsletter: RMT secures significant victory on Heathrow Group

A station worker assists a passenger

Workers on the Heathrow Group have secured a significant victory, after an RMT campaign against lone work achieved an agreement from management.

Key to this achievement was the decision of the local branch to ballot both station staff and Night Tube drivers for industrial action, showing that when workers stand together and prepare to take action, we can win concessions from our bosses.

See the attached bulletin for more details.
